Burnt Text EffectIntroduction: In this tutorial, we will use Photoshop to create a burnt text effect. This will be especially useful for graphic projects or web designs that use dark themes. A black or dark background is the best application for this type of text, as it will help bring out the features of the text effect.Preview:
Step 1:Let’s start out by creating a new file. I used a 500×500 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with black color. Now make a new layer set and name it 'Burnt Text Effect'. Select the Horizontal Type Tool then set the font family to Arial, bold, 80 pt, smooth and #5D2300 color shade. In a new text layer type your name.
Step 2:Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow and Inner Glow blending options to your brown text layer.
Step 3:Duplicate your brown text layer and nudge it down by a couple of pixels.
Step 4:Now duplicate your 'Burnt' Layer Set and merge it through Layer > Merge Layer Set. Then apply a Wind filter to the layer using the settings below.
Step 5:Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Glow blending optios to your winded text design. Then set the layer's blending mode to Lighten.
Step 6:Nudge the winded text layer to the right as shown below.
Step 7:Duplicate your brown text layer design from step two then create a new layer and merge both layers. Put this layer on top of all the layers in the Layers window.
Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Glow blending option.
Results:Burnt Text Effect.
