Concrete Text EffectIntroduction: The concrete text effect is a nice photoshop effect that you can apply to any font. The more bold and straight the font, the better the application and appearance of the effect. This is a nice design to use when doing industrial themes for your graphic design work or web projects.Preview: Concrete Wall Text Effect.
Step 1:Let’s start out by creating a new file. I used a 500×500 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with black color. Now make a new layer set and name it 'Concrete Wall Text Effect'. Select the Horizontal Type Tool then set the font family to Arial, bold, 72 pt, smooth and white color. In a new text layer type your name on the canvas.
Step 2:Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Drop Shadow, Inner Glow and Stroke blending options to your gray text layer. Then set the layer's blending mode to Lighten.
Step 3:In a new text layer add your name again in white color shade, same position as the first text layer.
Step 4:Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Glow and Pattern Overlay blending options to your white text layer. Then set the layer's blending mode to Darken.
Step 5:Duplicate your 'Concrete Wall Text Effect' then go to Layer > Merge Layer Set, the layer set should turn into a regular layer. Now apply a Fragment effect through Filter > Pixelate > Fragment.
Step 6:Sharpen the Fragmented text design through Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen More. Then place this layer behind the original text layers and set the opacity level to 40%.
