Leather Text Effect

Here is a leather text effect that can be used in Photoshop. The design is a nice alternative to some of the more basic or standard Web 2.0 text effects that are out there. This type of text effect is especially useful for web design graphics.

Leather Text Effect.

Step 1:

Let’s start out by creating a new file. I used a 500×500 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with white. Now select the Horizontal Type Tool then set the font family to Elephant, regular, 90 pt, smooth and black color shade. In a new text layer type your name.

Step 2:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow, Outer Glow, Inner Glow, Gradient Overlay and Stroke blending options to your black text layer.

Step 3:

In a new text layer add your name in black again.

Step 4:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow, Inner Glow and Gradient Overlay blending options to your second black text layer. Then set the layer's blending mode to Lighten.
